Inverurie Garden & Machinery Centre is a family-owned business in the aspiring town of Inverurie in the heart of Aberdeenshire.

Established circa 1976 by Duncan Forbes, the garden centre was an old railway shed, which historically was used to store goods for Meldrum Meg (the name given to the train which used to run from Inverurie to Oldmeldrum).

Mr Forbes initially used the shed as a builder’s yard. He then began to sell compost, mowers and chainsaws until it was purchased by Balgownie Machine Centre in 1990 and bought by current owner, the Milne family, on the 1st July, 1993.

In 2002, building works began on the spare land next to the old railway shed, which was situated at the roadside where the polytunnel is at present. The shed was demolished and the car park and outdoor plants area were developed. In March 2003, the new Inverurie Garden & Machinery Centre site was officially opened.

Since then, the garden and machinery centre has developed into a thriving business, selling well known and respected brands. We welcome around 2000 customers through our doors each weekend and have a car park that can accommodate over 100 cars.
